No, Spriggy isn't a bank. Spriggy is a small business on a big mission - helping Aussie families raise money-smart kids by making learning about money fun. The Parent Wallet and Prepaid Card are issued by Indue Ltd, which is an authorised deposit-taking Institution for the purposes of the Banking Act 1959.

Is the Spriggy card debit or credit?

The Spriggy card is a prepaid Visa card, NOT a credit card or a debit card. Kids can only spend what's on their prepaid card (money that parents have paid as pocket money, money transferred from savings or savings goals or money that parents have transferred via their Parent Wallet).

What if my kid loses the card?

Lock it instantly from the Spriggy app on your phone. No one can use it while it's locked. If it's gone for good, order a replacement for $10 and it'll arrive in 7–10 days.

Where can my kids use their Spriggy cards?

Your kids can safely use their Spriggy cards online and in-store. Their Spriggy cards will work anywhere that Visa is accepted. We've also got merchant restrictions to ensure that your kids can't use their Spriggy cards at alcohol and cigarette shops, etc.

Does my kid need a phone to use Spriggy?

No. If your child doesn't have a phone you can manage everything from the app on your phone.

How is this different from a kids' bank account?

A bank account gives your kid access to money but no structure around it. Spriggy has chores, savings and goals, spending notifications, and merchant restrictions, so they learn to earn, save, and spend responsibly.
